While creating every issue of Creating Keepsakes, we have a blast looking through all of the new scrapbooking products, trying to decide which ones will make our Latest & Greatest column. Of course, we never have enough space for all of the goodies we’d love to share with you. So we’ve decided share a few more of the producs that sparked our imaginations from each issue here on our blog—and we’ll give you the chance to win some of the fabulous products. Let’s get rolling!
Claudine Hellmuth Studios – Ranger Industries
We discovered the amazing line of Claudine Hellmuth Studio products from Ranger Industries at CHA back in January, and shared a couple of videos of sweet Claudine demonstrating just a few of the fun things you can do with her Sticky Back Canvas. You’ll love adding texture and color to your pages with this wonderful, on-trend line of products.
Eggdrop Soup – Jillibean Soup
With Easter right around the corner, our eyes are open for bunnies hopping down the bunny trail. The adorable Eggdrop Soup line from Jillibean Soup is a perfect addition to your stash, whether you’re looking for something to jazz up your Easter pages or a simple, cute new way to add a splash of springtime to your pages.
Double-Sided Edger Punches – EK Success
A sweet daisy chain will add just the right touch of springtime charm to your layouts—and with EK Success’ new Daisy Chain punch, you’ll have a true daisy chain, punched out on both sides. You’ll love this new punch design, as well as the others in the EK Success’ new line.
Green at Heart – BasicGrey
Earth Day is on April 22, and you’ll love adding a touch of “green” to your layouts with BasicGrey’s bright and fabulous new Green at Heart line. Printed on FSC-certified paper with soy-based inks, you can have a wonderful time creating a scrapbooking layout and feel good knowing that your paper is eco-conscious.
Wow, that’s a lot of scrapbooking goodness! How would you like to win some of these products for yourself? (Silly question—of course you would.) In addition to giving away the products above, you’ll also have a chance to win the E-I-E-I-O Collection from TaDa Creative Studios, as seen on page 48 of our March/April 2010 issue.
All you have to do to win one of these outstanding products is leave a comment telling us which of our Latest & Greatest products from the March/April 2010 issue of CK (or from this post) is your favorite and why you love it by Monday, April 5. We’ll draw five random winners (one for each product shown here) on or around April 6 and announce the winners on the giveaways tab located at the top of our blog.
Have a wonderful day!

October CK: An Insider’s Look
09/16/2009 at 6:52 am | Posted in Insider's Look | 168 CommentsTags: BasicGrey, behind-the-scenes, best adhesives, Brittany Beattie, CK, Creating Keepsakes, Creating Keepsakes magazine, free downloads, giveaway, Imaginisce, Little Yellow Bicycle, Mou Saha, photo ideas, scrapbook pages, Scrapbooking, sweepstakes, Tattered Angels, Top 10 issue
The October issue of Creating Keepsakes is now on newsstands, and we’re thrilled to share it with you. We’re especially excited because this issue is themed as our “Top 10” issue for 2009. In the magazine you’ll find the top 10 tips and ideas for numerous topics. Since I can’t fit them all in one post (without making it over 10 feet in length), I’ll share an overview of 10 of my favorite articles from the issue. Did I mention that the magazine provides over 10 outstanding ideas for each of these topics?
1. Clever new ways to dress up chipboard
2. Fun and inexpensive font finds for your most-scrapbooked themes
3. Pictures to capture your life every month of the year—that’s 120 photo ideas in the article!
4. The best photos to take this fall
5. Design tips for scrapbooking Halloween festivities
6. Fun activities to participate in throughout the month
7. Free type paths for journaling in a shape (You’ll find them as free downloads in this article.)
8. Top tips for adding stitching to your layouts
9. Layouts about yourself (I know you may not want to make them, but it’s worth taking the time! Get started with one of these six easy quizzes.)
10. The best adhesives in 10 categories (Our editorial team spent over eight hours testing boxes of different brands and products to find the best ones for your creativity.)

And now for a little behind-the-scenes peek into the creation of the October 2009 issue.
In our April issue, we called for your “Amazing Pages.” Boy, did we have a hard time narrowing the submissions. The task was too difficult, so rather than stopping at just 10 pages, we selected 20. We shared 10 of them in the magazine, and you’ll find the other 10 here.
On pages 50–51, you saw a glimpse of the amazingly talented Mou Saha’s craft room. We’re pleased to share her blog with you as well, so you can get to know her (and be inspired by her) even more.
To test the adhesives for #10 above, we scored all the products using this rubric.
We saw many more Halloween-themed products than we could fit into the magazine. For example, you saw some of this great Trick or Treat line from Little Yellow Bicycle, but I couldn’t resist showing you these accents as well.
And check out this festive Eerie collection from BasicGrey.
You’re sure to find this delightful Spooky Town collection from Imaginisce to be a real treat. I love it!
Plus, I can think of plenty of ways to use Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels to add a spooky feeling to my scrapbook pages.

A Halloween Giveaway
In addition to the 10 great sweepstakes being held in conjunction with the magazine, we have a special giveaway just for our blog readers. Our team has put together 5 goodie bags filled with Halloween product (including the fabulous products in this post) waiting for you! Leave a comment on this post by this Friday (September 18) telling us your favorite article or tip from the October issue for your chance to win. Winners will be announced early next week.
Enjoy!

CK & Me: June Edition

Hi there, Paper-Lovin’ Peeps!
It feels like it’s been a while since my last blog appearance, and I was starting to get blog-sick—you know, like “home sick” but longing for the blog. (Is there such a thing?) Good thing it’s time for another “CK & Me” installment. And a good installment it is, too.
Let’s begin with a sketch, shall we? I bet this one looks familiar. It was our April 09 “Becky’s Sketch” design.
Aimee saw its creative potential and turned it into this shining design. Nicely done, Aimee. For a complete supply list for this page, as well as more inspiring page designs, check out Aimee’s blog.
Inspired by a project Ali Edwards created, Jennifer DeDonado created this colorfully cool monogram letter, which hangs on the wall outside her studio. To see more of her “J” collection, take a peek at her blog.
Do you remember this rock star page designed by Allison Davis, featured on page 64 of our June issue?
Well, check out how Dana has tuned it to make her own unique chord. (Sorry. I can rarely resist a pun opportunity.) See more of Dana’s stunning work on her blog.
And, the CK inspiration doesn’t end with the scrapbook pages. Cute Christine’s creativity bloomed when she saw this delicious BasicGrey ad in our July 2009 issue (pg. 3).
Moved by the “quilting” around the ad’s edge, she created a similar pattern on this page. For close-up shots of this layout, as well as plenty of pretty eye candy, take time to visit Christine’s blog.
You Win
Thanks so much, talented ladies, for sharing some of the ways you’ve been inspired by the pages CK with your blog readers! To show our appreciation, we’d like to send you a free special issue. Choose from any of the following and e-mail me at ckblog@creatingkeepsakes.com with your name, mailing address and the special issue you want by Monday, July 20 and I will be sure to get your prize in the mail.
What Have You Been Up To?
Have you recently made a blog or gallery post that shows how you’ve taken your CK inspiration and made it your own? I’m always on the lookout for the next “CK & Me” spotlights. If you’ve done something, please don’t be shy. Go ahead and e-mail me at ckblog@creatingkeepsakes.com with “CK & Me” in the subject line and a link to your post. Thanks. I can’t wait to visit your blog soon!
Cheers!
